SpLiSh spLaSh fun!

Mia started her 1st swimming class today at our gym... and she did a GREAT job! Her big brothers & sister were sitting on the edge of the pool cheering her on! Daddy even stopped by to watch! I'm proud to report that she didn't cry at all in the pool! Pheeeww! However, she didn't want Ms. Ruth Ann (our instructor) to hold her to demonstrate anything. She would have NONE of that!

Would you believe... I forgot my camera... ooh well, classes are every Tuesday & Thursday so I'll have plenty of opportunity to post some photos for all to see!

Class almost didn't happen because it was pouring rain with lightning & thunder... but we went anyway and sure enough... 10 minutes before class started the skies cleared and it was okay to get in the water! Thankfully we are in an indoor heated pool so it wasn't too shocking to get in!

Mia learned to put her head in the water (not by choice... hee, I lowered her in and she did great)... I tried to teach her how to blow bubbles in the water (she is still learning how to blow out)... she relaxed while floating her on her back... and even did great when I held her face first (face not in the water) and then flipping her over to her back. We covered a lot of things in our short 30 minute class! I think Mia's favorite thing was singing all the songs with all the different hand and splashing motions (i.e: The Wheels On The Bus, Old McDonald Had a Farm, The Itsy Bitsy Spider & The Hokie Pokie)

Friday afternoon Mo, Ry & Dani will be taking their swimming lessons & stroke classes with Ms. Phoebe... fun fun fun!
