Rollings School of the ARTS

In late September 2007 - there were auditions for 3rd - 5th graders to try out for a slot in the GATEWAY program at Rollings School of the Arts in Summerville, SC. The areas to try out for were: Instrumental Music, Vocals, Theater, Dance & Art. I encouraged Morgan to try out and he decided to play his favorite piano piece at the time - Sonata I by Mozart. HE MADE IT!
** this is the day Morgan tried out for Rollings - Gateway program... he was dressed for success!

In May - the group took a field trip to the Arts Festival in North Charleston. I was lucky to be able to chaperone a small group and enjoy a day out with my big guy - Morgan!
The Gateway kids met at Rollings Middle School of the Arts about 6 times during the schoolyear... and then a 2 week session in mid-June.

JUNE 20th, 2008 - We got an early preview of the performances that they were preparing for THE GATEWAY FESTIVAL. It was neat to watch all the kids in action!
MomMom & PopPop Pan were able to come and watch all the kids perform...

There were STRINGS..... DRUMS.... Theater.... Dance .... Artwork .... and Vocals
Morgan said his favorite part of Gateway was the DRUMS! It was my favorite performance to watch, too!
