I still laugh when I think of the first day of school on Guam. Dale wasn't working yet so he came with me to pick up the kids at school... and we thought we saw Ryan walking... we soon realized it wasn't him. Uniform. Brown skin. Same black hair. We were not in South Carolina anymore - where my kids could be spotted from afar! We now blended in and were the majority. Welcome to Guam!
Cmdr. William E. McCool Elementary School opened it's doors for the first time on base this year and we are so blessed to be a part of it. Great Teachers... Great Staff... It was truly a wonderful experience. The only drawback was I didn't get to volunteer this year and it's a good 1/2 hour drive from our place up at Leo Palace. However, the school bus picked them up from our driveway at home... so that was an added bonus!
First school year completed on Guam. CHECK a Two more years to go...

WOW... amazingly the whole month of JUNE is almost over and I'm realizing I haven't blogged a thing! It's been a busy time and I am slowly coming back... so keep checking for updates.

Click on the above link to read more about our 4-day get-away MOTHERS DAY YAP TRIP. It's been over a month since my friend Amy & her family left the island and I find myself still missing her. It's always a blessing to be able to find a friend that you can just sit with and talk about nothing and everything... when the conversation just flows and you know you can just be yourself.
I posted this photo collage on FACEBOOK awhile back and it just cracks me up to see it again. I set Amy's camera on self-timer not realizing that it takes more than one frame. Ahh... I miss my friend!!
